Products & Programs

We source our produce from small farms whenever possible, and almost 60 percent of our fruits and veggies are grown in California! You can meet a few of our farmers on this page. To make it easy to keep tabs on your local purchases, we offer usage and tracking reports and the option to calculate the food miles on produce you’ve purchased.

We take your health and safety seriously. That’s why we’re food safety-certified by PrimusGFS, the global leader in food safety practices.

Yes! The FruitGuys is a certified organic food handler through CCOF. All of our organic mixes follow strict USDA protocol for the sourcing and handling of organic produce.

Yes! We offer select pre-cut fruits and vegetables, individually packaged and in trays. The options depend on your location. Please contact us to find out what’s available in your area.

When we say “unique produce,” we’re talking about rare, fun, and exotic fruits and vegetables—including local heirloom varieties. Check out our Unique Produce Calendar to see the bites we typically have on hand throughout the year. To find out what’s fresh now, look for the Unique Produce section on our price sheets.

We share which fruits and veggies are in season every month in our Monthly Market Reports. Keep an eye on your inbox for the latest report each month, or find past reports here. You can also download our California Fruit Seasonality Chart here.

Ordering is easy! Simply check your email for our latest price sheet, note your order directly on the sheet, and email it back to us. If you’re not sure how to note your order on your price sheet, feel free to skip that step and email your order to schools@fruitguys.com.

Orders for the coming week are due every Friday at 2:30 p.m. PT. We email out our price sheets on Wednesdays the week before the order deadline, so you have plenty of time to place your order. If you prefer to order monthly rather than weekly, please reach out to the school team for monthly pricing and produce availability.

Nutrition Education

Nope! Our student nutrition education materials and staff resources are free for schools that receive FruitGuys produce. We send out nutrition education via email all month long, and you can download past materials, too. The school team will send out an email near the beginning of the school year to let you know when your printed materials will arrive. To learn more and browse our materials, click here

We have tons of nutrition education materials waiting for you! To explore them all and download what you need, click here. You can also search many (though not all) of our materials here.

This year’s Farm-to-School Field Guide is available on the home page of our client portal. If you don’t see this year’s guide yet, keep an eye out—it’s likely coming soon!

Our complimentary Usage Reports are Excel spreadsheets tracking the amount and type(s) of produce your district purchases each month. The detailed reports include data like order volumes for each of your delivery points, servings and weights for each produce type, the location(s) where your produce was grown or harvested, and more. We send our Usage Reports out during the first week of the month via email, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Our complimentary Velocity Reports track the amount of local produce your district purchases, and they’re available on request. We can generate them monthly, bi-monthly, or annually at the end of the school year, depending on what you need. We’re happy to share the data in a spreadsheet or pie charts. To request a Velocity Report, email schools@fruitguys.com. Please allow two weeks for processing.
